“叶 文 Hoff” is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actor. She was born on December 25, 1987, in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, China. Ms. Hoff has been active as an artist since the early stages of her music career when she released several singles under different names such as Hsi-Hsieh Ho-Fang (HSH), and gradually adapted to stage name “叶文 Hoff” starting from 2013 onwards.
Her main genre is pop/colourpop, blending R&B elements into her songs. She has appeared in both music videos for Taiwanese TV variety shows including Dad’s Family, a leading entertainment program on China Central Television that had over one hundred million viewers for its first season after launching from 2016 to stop broadcasting in December of the same year.
Ms Hoff’s first success came in her second album when she released five songs between November and January, leading to an increased profile. She has contributed several hit songs such as “Eternal Love,” which topped charts and brought global attention due to its modern song style alongside elements from K-pop.
She also fronted a band called The7 during the early 2014s for four years before stepping aside in January of that year, with three members following her later. She also worked on music projects under different names such as HSH (Hsi-Hsieh Ho-Fang) which continued until she became more confident about her stage name “叶文 Hoff.”
Beyond being a singer and songwriter, Ms Hoff is an aspiring director who has directed several short films shot on location in Taiwan’s beautiful natural scenery. In 2016 the Taipei government even hosted a film that was a collaborative effort between herself and other notable Taiwanese directors as part of an initiative to promote Cross-Strait cultural exchange.
She also created her first art collection called “Hoff Collection,” released during March before turning back into songwriting mode, reflecting how sometimes being an artist encompasses diverse aspects both in terms of stage name adaptation and personal interests.
