十八世纪初，为反抗俄国的统治，蒙古年轻的土尔扈特部可汗渥巴锡率领十七万族人发起武装起义，东返祖邦。鞑靼民族这次跨越整个亚洲草原向东迁逃的行动如史诗般曾轰动于世。年仅三十三岁的渥巴锡汗在英勇地完成了自己的历史使命之后，病逝于水草丰饶的裕勒都斯草原，他的族人从此在此游牧繁衍。

At the early 18 century, to revolt the rule of Russia, the young Khan of Torghut Kalmyk Khanate led the return migration of the majority of the Kalmyk people from the Kalmyke steppe to Dzungaria, their ancestral homeland, then under the control of the Qing Dynasty. This epic movement of Tartar people who crossed the whole Eurasian steppes to the east shocked the world. Ubashi Khan died at Yuledus valley at age of 33 after completed his historical mission. His people have nomad life style in Yuledus valley generation by generation since then.
